Start with how you bathe
A tub-to-shower conversion trades a basin for a space designed around showering. Decide whether removing this tub affects anyone who still uses a bath, then plan the entry and standing area. The former tub footprint can provide useful length, but the location of the controls and opening should follow the new routine rather than copy the old arrangement.
Can the tub drain simply become the shower drain?
That must be checked. The shower base, drain assembly and existing plumbing need to work together. Keeping the drain near its current location may reduce disruption, but it does not establish that every existing connection is suitable.
Bring a usable project brief
- Describe who uses the bathing area and what is difficult about the present arrangement.
- Bring room measurements or photos and identify the fixtures you hope to retain.
- Separate must-have changes from preferences that can adapt to the measured space.
During a site discussion, test the decisions against actual dimensions and the proposed assembly. Ask which choices are ready to make and which depend on inspecting the existing room. A product image can explain a preference, but it cannot confirm that the same arrangement is feasible in your home.
This is planning guidance for a homeowner who makes the project decisions. Service fit and current availability need separate confirmation before any work can be arranged.

Bring the address and the room together
A city name alone does not describe your bathroom. Alongside the ZIP, note the existing tub or shower, access into the home and what your household wants to change. Do not enter a street address in this checker.
Finding a ZIP on a supplied list does not establish which services are accepted today. The provider must confirm the location, the project and current participation.
